Arborbrook
Since 2000, ArborBrook Vineyards is a family-owned, boutique producer of hand-crafted Pinot Noirs, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc and our Sauternes-style Semillon late harvest dessert wine., specializing in Oregon Pinot Noir. Owned and operated by Dave and Mary Hansen and situated in the Chehalem Mountain AVA, they’re in good company with some of the Who’s Who of Oregon Pinot noir, including Adelsheim, Bergstrom, Beaux Frere, Patricia Green, Penner-Ash, Shea and many others.
This property, enjoying significant history and character beginning in 1866 at the end of the mass migration along the Oregon Trail to the Willamette Valley, which happened in the 1840s and 1850s. It had most recently been a walnut and hazelnut farm in the early 1900s.
ArborBrook is dry-farmed. They believe this promotes deeper root growth and complexity in the flavors of our wines. Deep growing plants interact with the microbes in the soil, absorbing nutrients and minerals that contribute to an increased complexity and structure in the wines.
Their vineyard is right there. Check out the vines and see what they're up to! Watch bud break and bloom or the fruit ripening or the leaves changing colors...It's all right there.
Their tasting room in the old barn is where they offer two tasting flights. The ArborBrook Flight includes their white wines and three or four of their Pinot Noirs, and a dessert wine and has a $20 tasting fee for 5 wines refundable with $50 purchase. Their Reserve Wines are an additional $5.
You'll find Dave the owner pouring on weekends and sharing his passion for wine, farming, and many other subjects!
Lastly, their late-harvest Semillon is sourced from the Klipsun Vineyard in the Red Mountain AVA of eastern Washington state, named as one of the “25 Great Vineyards in the World.”
We should be leaving here by _____________ (to be on time for our next appt) (to be at your drop-off location by ________). Remember to take care of your tasting fee and/or wine purchase by this time.
