Bethel Heights
Gnarly old vines, geologically complex hillside soils, direct impact from Æolian air currents in the Van Duzer Cooridor, –all conspire to create highly energized wines with firm backbones, depth of character, and distinctive personalities.
Established in 1977; they offer nine different bottlings of estate grown Pino noir and Chardonnay each year, all grown within earshot of the Æolian harp (A K A: the air currents).
Every year for over a decade, the Casteel family has chosen a few barrels that best express the vintage to create their sought-after Casteel Reserve. The selections typically show stunning balance, with intense concentration, low alcohol, and vibrant acidity, teeming with notes of blackberries, black currant, and cherries.
