Bryn Mahr
Perched at 870 feet on the upper crest of the acclaimed Eola-Amity Hills, their 40-acre LYVE-certified estate, is battered by powerful maritime air currents, sweeping through the Van Duzer corridor, from the Pacific ocean.
Their vines are anchored into rocky volcanic soils on their steep vineyard, testing the upper limits of Willamette Valley viticulture.
This un-forgiving exposure produces powerful, intense and assertive grapes that challenge them to make wine.
Bryn Mawr is a Welsh name that translates to “High Hill.” Ranging from 650 to 890 feet, elevation is the distinctive characteristic of their site. As one of the steepest, rockiest, and windiest sites in the Willamette Valley, just a hundred yards can have a massive impact on sun and wind exposure, soil type, and depth. And with multiple volcanic soil series, striated throughout the property, their block-to-block variation can be as great as entire wine regions, similar to the Columbia River Gorge A V A, producing many varieties of wines!
As a result, they produce five different Pino Noirs, two Chardonnays, a Pino Blonc, a Rosé, a Tempranillo, estate Dolcetto and Riesling.
$20 tasting fee, -Complimentary with Min. Purchase. The refund on your tasting fee here is a 1 bottle purchase.
