Grateful Vineyards
Where they weave together farming, fermentation and Deep nourishment for their guests to be Restored.
In keeping with their mission of creating a restorative place for folks to come and be refreshed in the heart of their orchard, Katrina McAlexander planted a vineyard in 2016 and began plans to open the Grateful Vineyards Tasting Room.
Grateful Vineyard is honored to be pouring the family’s wine. Katrina’s great-great grandparents founded a vineyard in Switzerland and later immigrated to Helvetia, Oregon (1905) where they planted Yungen Vineyards. Continuing the tradition, Katrina’s uncle and aunt pioneered Elk Cove Vineyard in 1974 in the Willamette Valley. Grateful Vineyard is proud to partner with Elk Cove Vineyard and serve their exceptional wines under the Grateful Vineyard label. They look forward to sharing their family’s award winning wines in their tasting room at the foot of Mount Hood, writing the next chapter in their family’s story of fermentation and warm hospitality.
The Grateful Vineyard is tucked inside Mount View Orchards, a 50-acre apple and pear farm nestled just north of Mount Hood in the quaint town of Parkdale, Oregon. For over fifty years, their family has raised delicious, top-grade, environmentally sustainable fruit, establishing Mount View as an important fruit grower in the Hood River Valley and Columbia Gorge region.
It’s their tradition to open up their farm like a large living room, and invite family, friends, and visitors to come “taste and see”, the abundance of their harvests. New and old customers alike get to enjoy the special and deeply satisfying experience of tasting the wines, and sweetest, flavor-packed fruit, picked right off the trees, while getting to know the people who put so much love and care into raising it.
They are 3 generations strong caring deeply about growing grape vines and fresh fruit for their community.
