If we haven't decided on a different destination; our 5 possible winery destinations are below, located about 40 minutes to 1 hour from DT Portland.
If we get special requests about wines or wineries or region, we can change our itinerary. For groups of 6-8 or more, appts are required, otherwise appts are not required unless indicated...(Update: During the COVID-19 crisis, appts are always required)
If guest has a route preference (#1 - #5 below), please let us know before your tour...otherwise, your guide will choose the 'initial itinerary' below, or something similar.

Four Graces ($15), Argyle ($20), Duck Pond ($15), De Ponte ($15), Furioso ($20), Domaine Drouhin ($20), White Rose ($20) or Vista Hills ($15). For a 5-6 hour tour, we'll choose 3-5 of these as time permits. The average stay in a tasting room is 30 minutes for small groups or 45 minutes to 1 hour for large groups.

Columbia R Gorge area: (Columbia R. Gorge AVA) - (Travel time from DT Portland is about 1 hour)
With double volcano views of Mt Hood and Mt Adams, America's most unique AVA features wild beauty, traffic free touring, relaxed tasting rooms and European style white and BIG RED French, Italian and Spanish varietals. Using traditional winemaking techniques or wine blends, the winemakers produce anything from Alberiňo and Zinfindel (11%) to Syrah (9%) and Merlot (6%) to Pinot Noir (31%) and Chardonnay (8%) and 37 other varietals. It's like traveling a "World of Wine in 40 miles".
Some terroirs speak in gradations of nuance, Burgundy for instance. The Gorge is the opposite. As one races from sea level to alpine heights and moves from rainforest to desert with extreme geographic & climate changes; there is an amazing diversity of grapes grown here. Nearly any expression of wine is possible. The Gorge wineries are an exploration of the expressions of Gorge wine.
The Hood River Valley is eerily similar to the Napa Valley of 70 years ago, cooler, and filled with orchards before the vineyards came. The Columbia Gorge is a potential paradise for wine production."

Option #2: In Washington state across the river. These include Cascade Cliffs ($5; Italian varietals), Maryhill ($5; live music on the weekends), Syncline (Rhone and Mosel region-inspired wines), Cor, Domaine Pouillon (French Rhone Valley), Jacob Williams, Waving Tree (French Rhone Valley and Italian varietals) & White Salmon Vineyards*,
