Lange
Twenty-five years ago, Don and Wendy Lange founded their winery in the Dundee Hills. The year 1987 marked the Langes’ first vintage and consisted of the three varietals they embrace today: Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, and Chardonnay. New-world pioneers in the production of Pinot Gris, Lange Estate was the first to release a barrel-fermented reserve.
The original Lange Estate Vineyard (30 acres) was purchased in 1987 and first planted in 1988 with a mix of all three varietals.
Lange Estate Winery is proud to be located in the prestigious Dundee Hills Appellation (AVA), which is known for its volcanic soils (Jory and Nekia). These soils are deep and provide good drainage. Grapevine roots are encouraged to grow deep into the earth where the rich soils can provide nourishment. The ideal growing conditions provided by the soil, elevation, and climate of the Dundee Hills produce consistently excellent wines.
And Lange winery made the top 5 list of America's Best Value Pinot Noirs with their 2013 Willamette Valley Pinot Noir which scored 91 points from Wine Enthusiast and costs $25.
