Eric Lemelson is President and Founder of the Karuna Foundation (which is focused on climate change adaptation & mitigation), Vice President of the Lemelson Foundation (an organization founded by his father Jerome Lemelson; the prolific US inventor who invented the basis for the Sony Walkman, Hot Wheels and a variation on the propeller beanie amongst about 600 other patents; to support inventions that seek to make a better world through the power of invention), an environmental lawyer, a climate change and energy policy activist and a builder of beautiful high performance LEED buildings.
Eric's strong belief in environmental conservation has manifested itself in his serious commitment to "Certified Oregon Tilth" organic viticulture practices in all of his six vineyard sites.
The winery itself was built with the most sustainable practices available in 2007 with a solar photovoltaic system installed providing over 40% of the energy needs. The winery, it's innovative design combines centuries old winemaking knowledge with modern techniques. This allows Lemelson to create some of the most expressive Pinot noir in Oregon.
Nature, Tradition, Innovation and Driven by Values. Those are Eric's founding and guiding principles. The proof is in the product he creates, and Lemelson Vineyards creates beautiful Oregon wine.
FOOD: You are welcome and encouraged to bring outside food during the warmer months. Food can only be consumed outside on one of their three beautiful patios. They will happily pour your wine flight at your table.
