PENNER-ASH – 503.554.5545
CALIF OWNED (LA CREMA)
Penner-Ash, unsurprisingly, makes a lot of pinot noir -- nine single-vineyard options, the most of any winemaker in the state. While many winemakers draw from a variety of vineyards and blend the grapes, they focuse on single vineyard bottles, as Lynn Penner-Ash finds each vineyard unique and deserving of its own expression.
Lynn Penner-Ash’s winemaking experience goes back to the late-1980s, when she assumed the role of winemaker at Rex Hill Vineyards. Their early success with their own label caused them to dream of what they could create and in 2001 they began building the Penner-Ash brand full time.
The winery is luxurious, romantic & beautiful with views from every angle of the Coast Range, Chehalem Valley, Mt. Hood and Mt. Jefferson. Farming 80 acres, they were established in 2005 & offer 12+ varietals ranging from $24-$100, specializing in Pinot Noir.
And chardonnay fans should pay attention, pay attention to their Viognier (vyohn/yay)
, a rare varietal in Oregon. Bright acidity and fall fruits abound in this bottle, and it’s worth the $33 price tag.
They produce Pinot noir, Syrah, Viognier (vyohn/yay) and Reisling.

... If delicacy and suppleness are two of Pinot’s defining qualities, Lynn Penner-Ash’s wines express those attributes beautifully. The mouthfeel is soft and supple, and the delicate balance of fruit, acid and barrel never lets you down, from first sniff to last sip.
