There's love and wine behind every vine at Soléna. In May of 2000 Laurent Montalieu and Danielle Andrus Montalieu purchased an 80- acre estate as their wedding gift to each other and registered with premium nurseries for six different clones of Pinot Noir vines as wedding gifts. They named the vineyard Domaine Danielle Laurent. While waiting for their own vines to mature, the Montalieus purchased fruit from various vineyards, and named their new label Soléna. A combination of two names that signify the sun and the moon, after their daughter.
It also can signify their winemaking technique: Biodynamic Winemaking, where everything is done in harmony with nature, the sun, the moon and stars...
Farming 80 acres, Soléna was established in 2000 and produce about 5,000 cases annually. They offer about 12 varietals ranging from $16-$50, specializing in Pinot Noir.
* Named world's 38th best wine of 2015 by Wine Spectator!
Note: Ask for a 2 for 1 tasting coupon for their fellow wineries at Willakenzie and Archery Summit
