Vidon
Vidon goes where no man or woman have gone before.
Proprietor Don Hagge started as a winemaker in 1999 at age 69; he signs his letters "farmer, physicist, winemaker". He combined the scientific with the farmer when he built his own Argon gas wine preservation tap system that protects the wine from oxygen extending the life of the bottle. This allows the winery to offer visitors tastings of even micro-productions bottles. In addition, he uses no corks, preferring glass closures to avoid cork taint. He also designed a unique bottling line for those closures using a space-age heat gun to secure the cap.
Indeed, welcome to Oregon. Beam Me Up!

They cater to Oregon wine tasters who like to “peek behind the curtain”. If you're a fan of boutique wineries that produce distinct, site-specific wines, step inside Vidon's tasting room. The wines are great, and Don is a charming fellow.
They are a LIVE sustainable vineyard and winery at an elevation between 400 and 500 feet.
They planted the vines of 12 1/2 acres in 1999, harvest the fruit, make the wine and sell it out of the winery in the Chehalem Mountains AVA. Their production this year was just 2,000 cases. Although the focus is on premium Pinot Noirs they also make Tempranillo, Syrah, Chardonnay, and Viognier.
And why the bees on the label? Ask them.
$20 tasting fee is refunded with $100 purchase. The current tasting flights allow visitors to compare-and-contrast the unique characteristics of the individual clones in two different vintages of Pinot Noir... or try a selection of all that our estate has to offer.
We should be leaving here by _____________ (to be on time for our next appt) (to be at your drop-off location by ________). Remember to take care of your tasting fee and/or wine purchase by this time.
