When the Austin family broke ground and began building the Allison Inn & Spa in 2008, they planted their first vineyard on the property the following year. For two of the Austin family – fifth generation Newberg resident Ken Austin the third, and his wife, Celia, this event would become a precursor to establishing Rain Dance Vineyards. Just a year later, in the fall of 2009, the first 7 acres of Pino Noir was planted in the Chehalem Mountains.
Today Rain Dance Vineyards owns five estate vineyard sites totaling 120 acres, 80 of which are currently planted. With generations before them living on, and loving the land of the Willamette Valley, Ken and Celia, are committed to growing and producing wines, which honor the legacy of a family and a region. In keeping with the love and respect of nature, all of Rain Dance Vineyards are dry farmed, using sustainable practices, and are Salmon Safe, and L I V E Certified.
They produce Pino noir, Chardonnay, GEWÜRZTRAMINER, and Riesling.
Let me know if you want to learn more about Salmon Safe, and L I V E Certified, or Chehalem Mountains A-V-A.
